‘Bewise & immunise’ your child against flu – you nose it makes sense!
Protect your child, and others, from flu by making sure they get their flu vaccine.
The flu vaccination programme is well underway with parents and carers having already taken up the opportunity to have their child vaccinated against flu. The best way for parents and carers to protect their toddlers against serious complications of the flu is to arrange a flu vaccination.
Flu symptoms can appear very quickly and include a high temperature about 38c, an aching body, feeling exhausted, sore throat and runny nose and loss of appetite. Children may also become less active and get ear pain.
The vaccine is a nasal spray, so no needles are involved, and it is free for children aged 2-3 years, those in primary school (Reception to Year 6) and those in secondary school with a long term condition. For those primary school aged children, this will be done in School.
For children aged 2 to 3yrs old, please contact the surgery to book an appointment.
Even if your child had a flu vaccination last year, the type of flu can vary each winter, so it is recommended that they have the flu vaccine each year to boost their immunity. The nasal spray is safe and effective and offers the best protection.
To book an appointment, please contact the surgery online or by phone.
