Wegovy, Weight Loss and Zero Tolerance
We are currently receiving a high number of enquiries about weight loss injections such as Wegovy. Unfortunately, some of these…
We’ve had a lot of questions recently about weight loss injections like Monajruo or Wegovy, especially following media coverage. We want to be open with our patients and provide the facts, so you’re not misled by what you might see online or on social media.
Right now, GPs cannot prescribe Wegovy on the NHS. We are still waiting for official guidance from the NHS and our local Integrated Care Board (ICB) on how and if we’ll be able to offer this in the future.
Even when NHS prescribing does begin, the criteria will be very strict, and only a small number of patients are likely to be eligible. It won’t be available to everyone.
We understand this may be disappointing for some, but please remember: our staff are here to help, and we will not tolerate any abusive or aggressive behaviour. These are national decisions, not ones made by individual GPs or reception teams.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as we receive any new information. In the meantime, we’re still here to support you with healthy weight management advice, referrals, and lifestyle support.
