Pharmacies Over the Christmas Period
NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB has commissioned several community pharmacies to be open during the festive bank holidays across Norfolk and Waveney.
However, there may well be other pharmacies that are also voluntarily choosing to be open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
To find which pharmacy is open visit www.nhs.uk/find-a-pharmacy webpage for the most up to date information. Please note that this will be updated in December.
Be Christmas Ready
Now is the perfect time to review the contents of your medicine cabinet and to get your repeat prescriptions ordered. A properly stocked medicine cabinet can help you treat many common illnesses and ailments over the cold winter months and not just Christmas. As a suggestion it may be worth considering that you have these items in your medicine cabinet or are in date and can be purchased over the counter.
- A first-aid kit, including bandages, plasters, a thermometer, antiseptic, eyewash solution, sterile dressings, medical tape for dressings and tweezers.
- Pain relief such as aspirin, paracetamol and ibuprofen for aches, pains and high temperatures.
- Cold remedies to help with the symptoms of colds and flu like illnesses.
- Anti-diarrhoea tablets to relieve symptoms of diarrhoea, although these will not help with the underlying cause.
- Constipation relief.
- Throat sweets for sore throats.
- Antihistamines which can help with allergies.
- Indigestion relief remedies.
From all the Partners and Staff at School Lane Surgery, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
