Since September we have been holding joint covid and flu clinics for those eligible to have either vaccine. The autumn booster campaign is now coming to an end & we are holding our last joint covid and flu clinic at School Lane this Saturday, 9th December. If you are eligible and still yet to have a covid vaccine, this is a great opportunity to safeguard your well-being by addressing both COVID and flu concerns in one go!
Who is eligible?
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- All adults aged 65 years and over.
- People aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the Covid-19 chapter of the UKHSA Green Book on Immunisation
- Frontline health and social care workers.
- People aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression, as defined in the UKHSA Green Book
- People who are carers, as defined in the UKHSA Green Book
- Staff working in care homes for older adults.
How do I get a vaccine?
It is appointment only as we have limited vaccine. To book, please call the surgery where a member of the team will check if you are eligible and book you an appointment. There is only a limited number of appointment slots, so if we are fully booked, then we will offer to put your name on a waiting list and call you back if we have any cancellations or contact you if we are able to run another clinic after this Saturday. This will be dependent on agreement with the ICB/NHS locally. If we cannot, we will direct you to the most local provider still able to administer covid vaccinations.
Where can I get a covid vaccine after Saturday?
As Saturday will be our last clinic, other providers may still be offering the vaccine. You can find a list of walk-in vaccination sites in Norfolk here: https://improvinglivesnw.org.uk/our-work/our-campaigns/covid-19-vaccinations/walk-in-clinics/
What about Flu?
The flu vaccine programme will be running until 31st March 2024 for those who are eligible and yet to have one. Please contact the surgery to book an appointment. You can have the flu vaccine anytime up to the 31st March.
