Sexual Health Screening

Here at School Lane, we believe that proactive health care is key to maintaining your well-being, and we wanted to remind you of a service we offer to all our patients. In our continued commitment to providing comprehensive care, we’re offer a convenient and confidential screening offer for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Why Get Screened?

STI screening is a vital part of safeguarding your health and well-being. Many STIs can be asymptomatic, meaning you might not show any obvious signs or symptoms. Regular screening helps detect infections early, enabling prompt treatment and reducing the risk of complications. It’s a simple yet powerful step in protecting yourself and your partners.

What You Need to Know

To make STI screening as accessible and hassle-free as possible, we’re sending out text messages to our patients. These texts include a secure link that allows you to easily self-book an appointment for your STI screening. We want to emphasise that receiving a text message about STI screening is not a reflection on your personal risk or a result of any specific behaviour. This initiative is part of our general health care offering to ensure that everyone can stay on top of their sexual health.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

It may sound scary and horrendous “STI Testing!” but it is very quick and easy.

  • For Females: You’ll be provided with a self-swab kit to use in our private bathroom. Along with this, a small blood sample will be taken during your visit.

  • For Males: You’ll need to provide a urine sample, and similarly, a small blood sample will be collected.

 That’s it! Easy!

Our process is designed to be straightforward, respectful, and efficient, ensuring that your experience is as comfortable and confidential as possible.
