Protecting Our Little Ones!

You may have read on the BBC News website a report about Childhood vaccinations rates and the barriers some Parents have faced.

We know how important childhood vaccinations are in protecting our youngest community members from serious illnesses like measles, whooping cough, and more. Vaccinations keep your child safe and help protect vulnerable people around them.

We understand it’s not always easy to find the time or know exactly what your child needs that’s why we’re here to help.

Easy to Book: You can book appointments by phone, online, or at our reception desk. We offer flexible vaccination appointments, including Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, to help fit around your work or family commitments.

Reminders: We will provide you with as many reminders as possible by letter, call or SMS message. Just so you know what is due and when.

Dedicated Support: Our friendly child immunisation lead, nurse Kelly is always available to answer any questions, talk through the vaccine schedule, and help you check if your child is up to date. You can also speak to any of our clinicians about vaccines — no question is too small. Please note though that GPs do not give the vaccinations, but they are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Personal Touch: We send a birthday card to every child turning one, to celebrate this special milestone and gently remind you to keep their vaccinations up to date.

Welcoming Everyone: We support all families and communities and can help with language or translation needs if needed. Please let us know if you have any concerns about travel or access, we’re happy to help. If you have had vaccinations abroad, that is fine we can see what you need or provide the whole schedule in line with NHS guidance.

Trusted Information: If you’re ever unsure what vaccines your child needs or when, please ask us. We can help you check your child’s records or show you how to use the NHS App or red book to stay on track.

Now, we understand that many parents and carers might have questions about childhood immunisations. That’s perfectly normal and we want to help.

We’re putting together a simple, friendly FAQ document based on your questions, so everyone can feel more confident and informed about childhood vaccines.

If there’s something you’ve always wanted to ask, no matter how big or small, please use the anonymous form below to ask a question by 18th July. Remember, if you’re wondering about something, there’s a good chance someone else is too!

The form is completely anonymous and it’s for general questions about the childhood vaccination programme, not for booking appointments.

Once we’ve gathered your questions, we’ll share the answers to help support all our patients and keep you informed as much as possible!
