School Lane Surgery is looking for a proactive and organised General Practice Assistant to join our team at Thetford Healthy Living Centre.
Although this is a non-clinical position, it plays a vital part in patient care. You will work closely with our GPs and on-call team, helping to ensure that patient requests are handled accurately and promptly, while keeping the many important tasks behind the scenes running smoothly.
What will the role involve?
No two days in general practice are ever quite the same, but your work will include:
- Supporting the daily GP on-call team
- Coordinating, completing and redirecting clinical administration tasks
- Processing patient invitations and filing results
- Updating patient records and actioning reports
- Helping to manage clinic lists and rota changes
- Using systems including SystmOne, Accurx and FootFall
- Providing cover across other administrative areas when needed
Who are we looking for?
You could be a great fit if you:
- Have strong organisational skills and enjoy getting things done
- Are confident using IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Can prioritise your workload in a busy environment
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Are flexible, dependable and willing to learn
Experience of medical terminology would be helpful, but it is not essential. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning are just as important.
