Supporting our team and improving your care
We are beginning to use a range of trusted artificial intelligence tools within the practice. These systems are designed to support our clinical and administrative teams by helping with tasks such as preparing clinical notes, drafting letters, summarising information and managing routine paperwork. This allows our staff to focus more fully on you during your visit.
Why we use these tools
Our clinicians and support staff handle a large volume of administrative work to make sure your records are complete and accurate. AI systems can help with these tasks by creating clear summaries, organising information and speeding up routine processes. This can lead to:
- Call handling for certain issues (MED3/Sick Note requests)
- More attention during your consultation
- More accurate and timely records
- Quicker processing of letters and forms
How your information is protected
Your privacy remains our highest priority. Any AI system used in the practice must meet strict NHS and UK data protection standards, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. These tools are used under controlled conditions, with strong security measures, UK based data handling and clear limits on who can access information. Only the clinician directly involved in your care can see your consultation notes.
If an AI tool uses audio to help create a summary, the audio is processed securely and then deleted. Summaries may be stored for a short period when required for auditing, always within NHS rules.
Your choice
You can choose not to use AI supported services at any time. Please tell reception or your clinician before your appointment if you prefer that no AI tools are used during your consultation.
