Appointments

You can also:

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with. This helps us direct you to the most appropriate healthcare professional — it may not always be a GP. Other qualified team members, such as nurses or specialists, may be better suited to help and often have more availability.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you can’t attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer it to someone else.

To cancel:

If you need help when we’re closed

  • Use NHS 111 online (ages 5 and over)
  • Call 111 (for children under 5 or if you prefer to speak to someone)
In a medical or mental health emergency, call 999 immediately.

Help with your appointment

Please let us know if:

  • You have a preferred doctor, nurse, or other health professional
  • You prefer contact by phone, face-to-face depending on clinical judgement of the problem.
  • You need an interpreter
  • You have any access or communication needs

If appropriate, we may ask if you’re happy to add a “reasonable adjustment” flag to your record, so you don’t need to repeat your preferences in future.

Home visits

We encourage patients to attend the surgery where we have full facilities available. However, if this isn’t possible, we can offer home visits under certain circumstances.

To request a home visit:

  • Call reception before 10:30 am
  • Visits are usually scheduled between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm

Home visits are reserved for patients who are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery. The GP will assess whether a visit is required and how urgently. Be prepared to provide relevant details when you call.

Your GP may call you or a family member first to determine whether a visit is necessary or if the issue can be resolved by phone.

Other home support:

  • A community nurse can visit if referred by your GP
  • A health visitor will visit if you’ve recently had a baby or are newly registered with a child under five

Enhanced access

We offer appointments outside our normal hours:

  • Tuesday evenings: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Every third Saturday:
    • In-person: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
    • Telephone appointments: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Please note: These appointments must be booked in advance and are not available on the day.
